We are amazed at the response that we have received regarding our barn homes. We would like to take this time to clarify some questions that seem to come up frequently.
We use usable space square footage when we figure all of our building costs. Usable space square footage is the square footage of the main floor, the loft and basement, if applicable. So to figure the average cost of a finished home, add up your total square footage and multiply it by the figure that is applicable to you. This should give you a rough estimate of how much it will cost to do your build. Please note that a barn home is not going to be the cheapest way to build a home, it is going to be comparable to building a timber-framed or a log home. A barn home will be more expensive than a common stick-built or modular home.
Barn Builders main focus is on building new barns and saving old barns by restoring them. Because we want to concentrate on our goals, we currently do not have the time to do finishing work on our home builds. We would be happy to assist you in finding a contractor that can take over after we construct the building shell.
No, you do not. This is a service that we offer to our customers that want to utilize it. If you are working with another contractor or if you want to put your building up yourself, we will supply you with a comprehensive construction manual to do that. We will also provide continuous technical support to your build team if any questions or problems arise during your build. We hope this clarifies any questions you may have in regards to our barn homes. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to give us a call. We would be more than happy to visit with you at anytime. |
